This year, TikTok was the official presenting sponsor LA Pride Parade and LA Pride in the Park Music Festival. Here, the platform offered its users exclusive experiences with a behind-the-scenes TikTok LIVE series, as well as from the ground, during these events. Talk about the VIP experience.

Through this live broadcast, users around the world were able to witness these pride events. Therefore, these people might still feel included in events that commemorate their community despite their location. It’s awesome ?

Focus on LGBTQ+ businesses

  • inform people about their products and services

  • publicize all the initiatives in which their companies participate.

By paying attention to these businesses and SMEs, TikTok not only helps these businesses promote themselves, but also helps budding entrepreneurs with advice and support from their community. Surprising.

Pride Playlists

No celebration is complete without some music. Users can tune into TikTok’s sound page to listen to a range of LGBTQ+ artists to take their pride parties to the next level.

With its “#PrideMusic” playlists, the platform aims to highlight musicians who use their voice to celebrate, raise awareness and inspire members of their community.

In doing so, the platform really helps honor the LGBTQ+ community with music that represents and celebrates their identities.

Create secure immersive spaces

Meta announcement that as part of their Metaverse Culture Series, they are looking at ways to ensure that the Metaverse will be an inclusive and safe space for LGBTQ+ members.

The platform said it does this by talking with community members about what is needed to make immersive experiences more equitable. Additionally, he said he is working on customizing these spaces for LGBTQ+ members.

Launch of new tools for expressing pride

Meta’s release of Pride-themed avatars allows users to show off their digital reps in full Pride gear on their Facebook Stories and Messenger chats.

LGBTQ+ Safety Center

One important feature Meta introduced this month is its Facebook LGBTQ+ Safety Center.

This hub helps create a safe digital environment for this community through security features such as:

  • resources to stop bullying and harassment
  • instructions on how to improve account security, and
  • guidelines for reporting harmful content.

Features like these play a vital role in making LGBTQ+ members feel comfortable and safe in virtual spaces, allowing them to interact freely and produce content without doubt or fear.

Support LGBTQ+ Creators

Meta will be hosting an in-person event this month called Pride Skate day dedicated to young skate designers. The event aims to help promote young LGBTQ+ creators in the skate community.

Additionally, Meta will host Pride Gaming in Brazil. This event will stream content from 30 LGBTQ+ game creators live on Facebook Gaming.

Another way for Meta to promote LGBTQ+ creators is by renewing “#OrgulhoFamília”, a Brazilian series that focuses on love in this community.

By supporting these creators, Meta puts them in the spotlight and allows them to show off their skills on a larger scale. This plays a vital role in boosting their creativity and self-confidence. Moreover, it motivates the creators of this space to continue producing and improving their creative content.

Promote LGBTQ+ businesses

Meta will promote LGBTQ+ owned businesses and SMEs by highlighting their content.

First, he published the Global LGBTQ+ Cultural Guide with the aim of educating people on how they can support this community.

Second, it will host a live shopping event called “#shopforPride”. Here items from LGBTQ+ businesses will be promoted and sold on @instagramforbusiness.

LinkedIn has joined the pride discussion with a series of blogs that discuss pride in a corporate space.

Let’s talk about Pride the right way

At the end of May, LinkedIn published a blog post focused on educating brands about how they should talk about Pride. The blog warns brands against being insincere in their approach to Pride and advises them to market in a respectful, informed, sensitive, and authentic way to the LGBTQ+ community.

The piece also gives insight into:

  • the use of Pride keywords by brands
  • which industries use these keywords
  • the regions where the engagement of these keywords originated
  • the position of Company Members who interact with Pride Content, and
  • what are the most engaged Pride-related hashtags.

With this information, the platform plays a vital role in guiding businesses to better address Pride conversations, while supporting and respecting the LGBTQ+ community.

How to Create an LGBTQ+ Friendly Workplace

In another blog, LinkedIn talks about the state of the LGBTQ+ workforce in 2022.

This article examines workplace statistics for members of this community and shares information on how the workplace affects them.

By providing these insights, the article educates and raises awareness about how members of this community feel about their work environment. In addition, it encourages workers and employers to create a more inclusive workplace for these people.
