UCF Recruiting Efforts Supported by Social Media Content

ORLANDO – Keep up with and outperform the Joneses. It’s the equivalent of what the UCF social media team and coaching staff did. Whether it’s a helmet photo, something funny, a creative video posted on Instagram or another social media platform, the Knights are one step ahead.

Should UCF fans care? Yes absolutely! This is the age of social media and programs that do not adapt to this fact will lose the best prospects. Every opportunity to catch the eye of rookies has an impact on the UCF Football program.

It’s not something that all football programs do very well. Some schools have even been slow to adapt to the social media trend in recent years. Even if there is a plethora of content, does this content attract leads? Does it help the coaching staff at that particular school show something meaningful to a prospect that they will remember?

It’s a process. Photographs, videos, special effects, interviews, schedules, uniform reveals, fan interaction, mascots and the ability to determine when and where to place content go hand in hand. The Knights have been proven to be one of the best at producing intriguing social media posts that recruits can relate to and want to check out.

So, other than cool photos and videos, what else do social media posts do? Talking to Southern rookies over the past two years is about incorporating the photographs and videos into a recruiting pitch i.e. including photographs of players wearing unique uniforms like uniforms spacesuits the Knights wore last season.

Also related, photos with UCF uniforms are also a big part of what happens in recruiting. Different sets, coaches inside photographs, etc.

here is Wedin clayone of Florida’s top players for the Class of 2023. He just completed his visit to UCF, which can be read here. UCF did a fantastic job connecting with him, including the social media aspect of the visit.

Then there is the digital art that attracts recruits from social media platforms. Here’s a creation for a top-notch defensive rookie Isaiah Nixon of St. Petersburg (Florida) Lakewood. He’s a rookie who’s seen his recruiting skyrocket lately, and UCF would love to sign him.

Winning a rookie’s interest has certainly changed over the years, and now it’s a game of digital and social media. As the Knights continue to recruit true elite prospects, social media campaigns will be a critical part of the success of UCF Football’s recruiting efforts. UCF is one of the best programs in the country for capturing the attention of rookies. It has already paid off on National Signing Day, and it will do so in the future as well.
