Police to ‘assess’ new allegation regarding Leigh Griffiths’ social media content
The 30-year-old was sent home from Celtic’s training base in Wales last week as allegations of inappropriate online behavior were investigated. It is understood that the allegations surrounded the allegations that he sent private messages online to an underage girl.
Officers have now been alerted to a second image linked to a teenager following an article in the Daily Record newspaper.
A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: “We are aware of the content on social media and the matter is currently being assessed.”

The validity of the second image has not been confirmed, but according to the Daily Record, it has circulated on social media and appears to show Griffiths responding to a second teenager requesting a photo.
Griffiths, who joined Celtic from Wolverhampton Wanderers in 2014, signed a new one-year contract extension with the Scottish Premiership club this month.
The forward, who has been selected 22 times by Scotland, had not been a regular holder under former manager Neil Lennon and then interim manager John Kennedy throughout last season.
He had been criticized by Lennon for his physical condition upon his return from confinement.
Griffiths was also excluded from the Scotland squad by men’s national team manager Steve Clarke for the Euro 2020 final.
Earlier in the week, Celtic said it had been made aware of the comments online regarding Griffiths and that the club would consider the matter “carefully”.
