NCC adds podcast channel to online media platforms

The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has launched a podcast channel named NCC Global Connect, which will be used to broadcast news and events and information on the commission, consumer rights and issues in the telecommunications industry.

The podcast channel was launched at the Communications and Digital Economy Complex, Mbora, Abuja last week by the Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Professor Isa Ibrahim Pantami, in the presence of critical telecommunications players.

NCC Executive Vice President Professor Umar Danbatta said the commission has embraced a culture of innovation and over the years rolled out various well-established conventional and social media platforms – Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube and Twitter (currently banned) – for its media and public relations activities.

“But we are not long in expanding our media frontiers. We want to reach more and more of our stakeholders with our rich content to empower them and improve our visibility locally and internationally.

Due to advancements in digital technologies, podcasts have become increasingly popular as a means of stakeholder engagement, as they help increase those engagements in an organic and conversational way. “In line with these advances, we created the NCC podcast channel ‘NCC Global Connect; as an additional social media channel for the commission.

EVC said the creation of the podcast channel is in line with NCC’s strategic initiatives to strengthen the brand image and visibility of the commission through the adoption of innovative communication channels by developing audio and video content. to reach our stakeholders inside and outside the country as well as use it to attract the attention of potential investors in the Nigerian telecommunications market.

“We are confident that the NCC podcast will complement our existing online media platforms by supporting the range of our communications activities and collaborations by providing additional innovative ways and tools to engage with our stakeholders. Our podcast’s audio content is seamlessly accessible across various channels including Podcast Addict, Spotify, Apple, Amazon Music, Google Music, iHeartRadio, Deezer and more.
