11 Ways You Can Keep Your Social Media Content On Brand

Social media has become an integral part of the marketing strategy of any modern business. However, because each platform handles content a little differently, it can be difficult to develop a cohesive strategy for multiple platforms. To find out how to get your message across, we asked the experts at the Young Entrepreneur Council to comment on the following question:

1. First define your message and your brand

“It’s important to have a consistent message and brand when engaging on social media. The message and branding will need to be established before posting to social media platforms. Social media is just another channel or tool to get your message out and your brand. ~ Jean Ginzbourg,

2. Use the same version of your logo as all of your profile photos

“We have logos for a reason: to make our brand recognizable anywhere and anytime. So even if someone scrolls right after your post, your business is still exposed every time you post. As for staying on the brand’s message, post content that supports your mission and vision 100% of the time. 3. Assign a dedicated person or team to manage social media

“It’s easier said than done, but having the right team that can handle all of your social media is the best way to make it cohesive. It is much more difficult to put the parts together later through copies or modifications. Even if that means you need to hire fewer people, find at least three: one to create the content, one to produce the content, and one to manage the content. “~ Patrick barnhill, Specialist ID

4. Plan publications in advance

“Use a simple tool like Hootsuite to plan all your social content in advance. When you are able to look at a 30 day image, it can help you organize and plan, keeping everything on the mark. If all you do is post on the fly, it can lead to a mix of content that drifts into other avenues. 5. Set up the right processes

” There is no miracle solution. It’s about the combination of the processes in place, from the way you hire to the implementation of a social media strategy. If you haven’t documented your brand’s voice, tone, and imagery examples, you can’t expect a new person to be able to meet unclear expectations. 6. Designate someone to approve the content

“All content has to go through a two- or three-step approval process before it is published. Those who endorse the content should have a solid understanding of the brand and its identity. This will ensure that your content is always on the brand, regardless of where the content is posted. ~ Duran Inci, Optimum7

7. Establish brand guidelines

“Having a document that explains your brand and sets out clear guidelines on what to do and what not to do is crucial to ensuring compliance. Branding books or branding guidelines can be extremely detailed, but you can also keep it simple and come up with a playbook on how your visual and content assets should be used. 8. Adjust your tone and voice

“I have multiple businesses and the best way to make sure all social media content stays on the brand is to make sure that all posted content – whether it’s on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, or Pinterest – has the same tone and same voice. 9. Keep every message focused on the brand

“Know what your brand stands for and include it in every message. Think about it before you post anything, including sharing content from other users like users. Always include a context that connects it to your brand. ~ Angela Ruth, Calendar

10. Don’t rely on automation

“Even beyond the brand, the end goal must be in mind. Our team members start with a brand summary to help them understand who the audience is, what the goals are, as well as the color scheme, tone, messaging and visuals. 11. Make a checklist
